Caroline Gagnon, professor and director of product design program at Laval University
Caroline Gagnon’s research focuses on a wide array of contemporary issues regarding to social and public design. She teaches research method in design (ethnographic methods in particular) to apprehend the social perception of design projects. She is concerned by empathic design as it helps to understand the human experience and orienting projects. In the early years, she is interested in pedagogical and academic perspectives about creativity, design thinking and strategic design. Caroline Gagnon holds a doctorate and a master's degree in Environmental Design from the University of Montreal and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from the University of Quebec in Montreal. She currently occupies a position as adjunct professor and as director of product design program in the School of Design at Laval University (Quebec, Canada).
